MEET & GREET WITH JOSH KENNEDY
July 2022
Grass roots footy comes from the country and sporting events brings a lot of these communities together, so Chad along with our new brand ambassador, WCE player Josh Kennedy made a recent trip to meet some of the locals. Growing up in the regional town of Northampton, JK was more than happy to get back out in the country.
It’s was a great opportunity for our ‘up and coming’ footy stars to meet and greet one of the greats and get an insight into the world of professional football.
West Coast Poly has always enjoyed the support and loyalty from our country communities, so along with our 14 year partnership with the WACFL this was a great way to give back.
The visit consisted of 3 main stops, with Chad and JK meeting WCP agents and locals.
WAGIN – Footy Training and Q&A with Josh Kennedy
Excerpt from local legend Londa Finlayson
Josh Kennedy #17 for the AFL West Coast Eagles gave all the Footy Fans of Wagin a HUGE treat tonight at Matera Oval with joining in on the Tuesday night footy action!
Thanks to West Coast Poly for being apart of Josh Kennedys’ appearance & local experience tonight at the Wagin Footy Oval.
Although the night was cold, Josh was kept warm with the swarm of mad Eagles fans (some Dockers ones too) keeping nice and close to him, whilst he signed the 3,458 different parts of memorabilia- including arms, footy boots, hats, footys & anything the kids could get signed.
Josh had Q&A with the Auskickers & D Graders – with several Dockers questions thrown at him, but he took them like a champ. Lots of great questions from the young ones about draft selections, his passion for the game & who he looked up to in his career. No question was off limits & was fantastic to have a laugh & hear Kennedys humble way through his AFL West Coast Eagles life has been.
Wagin Football Club & Wagin as a Community are extremely lucky to have such rare opportunities like this one. Thanks goes to the organisers for this occassion, also to our Volunteers like Mario Carbone for cooking the sausage sizzle!
Wagin kids & township are very grateful to make this Tuesday more terrific than ever!
PINGELLY – Josh Kennedy Q&A Pingelly Primary School Visit
Copy from Pingelly PS
The school was abuzz with excitement today, when Nutrien Ag Solutions, together with West Coast Poly, brought Eagles player Josh Kennedy to school.
Antony Sewell, and his team, Kari Moulton, Jacob Sounness and Bailey Parsons from Nutrien, provided and cooked a delicious sausage sizzle for students and staff.
Chad Southcott representing West Coast Poly, accompanied Josh Kennedy to Pingelly, much to the delight of all the students (and staff!!)
Josh kindly answered many questions, wide and varied, put to him by students from across all classes at an informal assembly.
Pingelly Primary School is so fortunate to have such great supporters and we thank everyone involved in this very exciting day.
NARROGIN – Josh Kennedy Q&A Narrogin Senior High School
Copy from Narrogin HS
A nice surprise for our worthy students today. Josh Kennedy welcomed the opportunity to have a last minute Q&A with our students. Staff (and Canteen ladies) also got into the action.
And that’s a wrap! Thanks to our agents, volunteers and locals who made this all possible.
