Simple yet effective design…
Chemical tanks, like the one pictured next to Amanda here, is a tank that you see a lot around the dispatch yard, coming out of production and onto delivery trucks. This tank is going to a fuel terminal in Perth and will hold acid.
When it comes to our chemical tanks the first thing we consider is, whether the chemical our client wants to store, is suitable to polyethylene. We look at the specific gravity of the liquid and we also need to make sure what ever gasket/sealants that are used are suitable for the chemical being stored. We don’t want the tank to fail our client, so making sure the materials are the right match, is the first step in building a successful tank.
We use a different material when making these tanks, it’s HDPE, manufactured to a special heavy duty, to handle the higher specific gravity of the liquid.
The tank pictured here has an infill line with a one-way nonreturn valve, which means no acid drips after filling. It also has a UPVC ball valve, site tube with UPVC isolation valve and side wall impact protective strips.
A simple yet effective design, which is why it’s so popular with many of our clients.
