Here at West Coast Poly, we’re all about finding innovative solutions tailored to our client’s unique needs and this 7,000L tank is a perfect example of that. Custom-designed to hold fire service water on our client’s site, it showcases our dedication to delivering precisely what our clients require.
The challenge was clear, our client needed a fire service water tank but had limited space on-site and a minimum requirement of 5,000 liters effective capacity. Our skilled fabrication team devised a solution by stacking two 4,500L tanks and poly welding them together. The tall height of the tank achieves two significant advantages – it minimises the vessel footprint to maximise space efficiency, and also places positive pressure on the outlet during draining, enhancing operational reliability.
Precision and excellence of our fabrication team are embedded in every detail. An access ladder is secured to the tank wall for easy maintenance, and to optimise water flow our fabrication team installed a vortex inhibitor. This clever fitting prevents disruptive vortices from forming on the liquid surface, eliminating pump cavitation thus assisting smooth, uninterrupted flow during pumping operations. This means the water is drawn evenly, giving a consistent laminar flow and enabling maximum drawdown of the liquid surface level.
At West Coast Poly, we take pride in finding solutions that meet our client’s unique requirements and this custom-designed fire service water tank is a testament to our commitment to quality and innovation. So our clients have the tools they need to keep their operations safe and efficient. Contact us today to discuss how we can tailor our expertise to your specific needs.
