More Efficient Water Transport…
No one likes standing out in the scorching heat, not when you have the option of sitting in a comfy air-conditioned cab.
One of our agricultural clients wanted two cartage tanks so he could carry as much water as his truck would allow and the process to be as efficient as possible. The issue with two tanks is that although you double the amount of water you carry, you also double the number of connections you have to fit. This equals more time in the sun, getting up onto trailers attaching camlocks to one tank, filling that tank, detaching camlocks, then getting up onto another trailer to attach another tank, waiting now for that tank to fill, only to repeat this process when it comes time to drain the tanks, all under the sweltering sun.
So just before the Christmas break, we delivered this cartage tank which we fitted to make water carting more efficient. The tanks are designed to be used together, with the addition of a custom manifold, enabling the tanks to drain and fill at the same time. That way when our client fills up one tank he doesn’t then have to climb up on to the truck uncouple the camlock to one tank, walk it over to the other tank to attach the camlock then stand in the sun while it fills.
To then repeat the process when he carts the water to the storage tanks.
Our in-house fabrication and welding team crafted the skid and the custom manifold allowing the tanks to join. We also added the filling hopper which increased efficiency, by reducing liquid loss while filling. Filled with West Coast Poly’s unique Baffle Balls, which eliminate liquid surge and increase vehicle stability when on the move.
Two tanks that can be hooked up once, that fill and drain at the same time, that’s efficient, and for our client it means more time in front of the air con instead of the sun.
