Dependable Water Cartage For A Pilbara Gold Mining Operations…
We recently delivered this 5,000L cartage tank to a gold and copper mine in the Pilbara, home to expansive open pits, underground mines and processing circuits that produce gold doré and gold-copper concentrate.
They needed a reliable way to transport potable water across their sprawling site and unload it next to the ablution blocks. The tank would need to be transported full of water on a flatbed truck across rugged terrain and tough conditions.
Our team set out to design a solution that ticks all the boxes for safety, reliability, and ease of use. The centrepiece of the setup is a heavy-duty galvanised skid frame, made by our steel fabrication team. Complete with fork tine lifting points, lifting eyelets, it’s tough enough to handle the job and designed for easy handling. Whether it’s on or off the truck. We even included a checker plate platform to mount the pump and hose reel securely.
Safety was non-negotiable, especially with a tank full of water sloshing around on uneven ground. To tackle that, we fitted the tank with our baffle balls to stop water surges.
For water delivery, we added a Davey HM270-19P 240v pressure pump—this powerhouse pumps up to 270 liters per minute, perfect for keeping things flowing smoothly. To save time, we pre-plumbed everything from the tank outlet to the pump, so it’s ready to go the second it hits the ground on site.
This project is a great example of how we tailor solutions to meet the unique needs of mining operations. From the rugged skid frame to the efficient water delivery setup, everything was built to make the client’s job easier and safer. It’s all part of what we do at West Coast Poly—delivering solutions that stand up to the harshest environments and keep things running without a hitch.
For a dependable, no-fuss water cartage system, West Coast Poly’s got your back.
