Cyclone-Rated Water Storage for the North West…
From red earth to turquoise coastline, the Pilbara’s beauty comes with a price, cyclonic winds and unforgiving weather. So when the Ocean View Caravan Park in Onslow was set for redevelopment, our client turned to West Coast Poly for a water storage solution built to withstand everything the north could throw at it.
To meet the specification, we supplied two 25,000l heavy-duty polyethylene tanks, each engineered and certified for Region D, Category 2 cyclonic wind loading. The highest rating required for Western Australia’s north-west coastal regions.
At the heart of this strength is our cyclone restraint ring system, manufactured in-house by our steel fabrication team. The hot-dipped galvanised restraint ring and eight vertical posts provide structural anchoring capable of withstanding extreme wind uplift and lateral forces. Unlike traditional tie-down methods, our engineered restraint system eliminates the need for external tie-down points—offering a safer, cleaner, and more reliable solution for high-wind installations.
Each tank was constructed from HDPE for added tensile strength, with standard inclusions such as 80 mm inlet and outlet assemblies with camlock fittings, mechanical level gauge, and vermin-proof overflow system. Ensuring complete functionality for site operations. All components were AS/NZS 4020 certified and backed by CAD design drawings, hydrostatic testing, and load certification prior to delivery.
Transported pre-slung for ease of handling, the tanks were delivered to Onslow on schedule as part of our clients six-month construction program, providing the caravan park with a proven, cyclone-ready water storage solution.
