When it comes to chemical storage in the mining industry, precision and durability are critical...
Recently, West Coast Poly had the opportunity to create a 5,300L black polyethylene tank for a gold mine, designed specifically to store hydrochloric acid safely and efficiently.
To meet the client’s requirements, we incorporated a glass sight tube into the design, allowing operators to easily monitor liquid levels at a glance. Understanding the challenges of busy industrial environments, we added PE sidewall impact protection strips on either side of the sight tube. These strips act as a buffer, protecting the sight tube from accidental bumps by machinery or personnel working nearby.
To ensure the tank remained secure in its operational setting, we fabricated four PE bolt-down feet with slotted holes. This design allowed for straightforward installation, enabling the tank to be securely fastened to a concrete base.
As part of our commitment to quality and safety, the tank underwent rigorous hydrostatic testing, with an 8-hour hold to confirm its integrity and readiness for the demands of storing hydrochloric acid in a mining environment.
This project highlights our dedication to crafting reliable and customised solutions for the mining and industrial sectors.
