Keeping chemicals chilled at 3 degrees celsius with insulated tank….
Pam is pictured here with a one of our 720l chemical tanks for our client who is in refrigeration. The tank needs to hold propylene glycol and is coated in a 100mm of polyurethane foam insulation, assisting to maintain system efficiency, keeping the glycol at 3 degrees.
Propylene Glycol is often combined with water and can be used to lower a working fluid’s freezing temperature. Important when dealing with industrial refrigeration, if there’s any risk of your fluid containing equipment being exposed to freezing temperatures, glycol is an effective solution.
There are few design considerations underlying the foam, heavy duty tank construction ensures safe chemical storage with increased material thickness making it 40% heavier than its water tank equivalent. For tank ventilation we used a gooseneck atmospheric vent with vermin stainless steel protection limiting the ingress of contaminants into the tank while also allowing safe vessel ventilation.
