A Cyclone Tank For A Research Lab…
These are 3 of our 50,000L tanks, storing seawater for a research lab up in Exmouth. One of the key factors for our client was that these tanks were certified AS/NZS 4020 for holding potable water. Even though they would be storing seawater which isn’t classified as potable water, the water would be for laboratory use so it was vital that there is no ‘leaching’ of chemicals from the tank fabric.
Due to the external environment up in Exmouth the tanks were fitted with restraint rings for Region D cyclone compliance. The hot dipped galvanised steel restraint ring and the 8 legs securing the tank to the base means this tank will be safe & secure in even the most hostile weather events. Our team have fitted these tanks to specification as well as putting them through hydro testing & load certification testing, so that these tanks will fulfill the vital role of storing saltwater for research at the Minderoo Foundation Exmouth Research Laboratory.
