West Coast Poly Champion of the Week // Round 4 – Garret Greenham
Garret has been involved with the Burracoppin Football Club for the last decade and during that time he has been a player, a member of the committee, volunteered behind the scenes, and has worked tirelessly to ensure the Club’s survival. Of the past 4 years he has stepped into the role of President where he has led the Cats from near extinction to a healthy, sustainable, proactive, financial enterprise.
Garret took on the role of presidency at a time when the Club was struggling with numbers (both playing and supporting) and in a bit of a lull. He put his hand up when no one else wanted to, and worked hard to engage our local community to boost participation both on and off the field. He is an avid supporter of junior sport and developing grass-roots talent, and is passionate about building a Club culture that is safe, welcoming and inclusive.
Garret is a popular member within the Cattery. He has a passion for our Club like no other and dedicates copious hours to ensuring everything runs smoothly. He is our tech guru when we need him and has boosted our social media profile by 1000%.
Other achievements include the incorporation of 4 netball teams under the Burracoppin umbrella, working with the committee to make our 100 year celebration a success, and completing compliance training and workshops to ensure our Club is well governed and organised.
Whilst Garret has a young family and works shift-work, his dedication to the Cattery is unquestionable. He devotes endless hours to ensuring our Club runs smoothly, and is always available to mentor and support younger committee members and players.
We are grateful for Garret’s ongoing contribution to the Burracoppin Football Club and believe he is a worthy candidate for the Champion of the Week award.
